Join us for a tour led by Las Angelitas del Pueblo volunteers and LACHS members Marilyn Lee Schneider and Don Sloper. We'll take an hour-long easy walk around El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, the birthplace of the City of Los Angeles, where 44 settlers from New Spain (present-day Mexico) established a farming community under Spanish-colonial rule on September 4, 1781. El Pueblo boasts the greatest range of architectural styles found anywhere in Los Angeles in one place. The monument exists as a living testament to the diversity of Los Angeles, highlighting the earliest communities that contributed to the city's development.
The tour is followed by the Los Angeles City Historical Society Annual Membership Meeting at the Pico House at 12:00 noon. You can get tickets for both events or only one of them at the ticket button below.
